Thinking of attending or hosting a murder mystery event, here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.Â
For individuals attending public events
On arrival at a dinner theatre or afternoon tea mystery, you will be greeted and shown to your seat. If you have chosen to make up a team with other guests you will join a table of six to eight, otherwise you will be seated separately.Â
During the event characters will appear and a mystery will unfold in front of your eyes. Unlike going to the theatre there is no stage and the action will take place among the tables. You should watch and listen carefully as anything that a character says or does could be an important clue. There will also be clues and puzzles placed on your table that may, or may not help you solve the crime, but watch out for red herrings!

Some of our storylines offer guests the option to dress up, for example our Harry Potter Tribute mystery or Christmas themed mysteries. Fancy dress is always optional. If you prefer not to dress up then smart casual is perfectly fine.

Our acting team will do the acting so you don’t need to. However, you are welcome to get into the spirit of the event and interact with the characters as much as you like when they visit your table and during the interrogation.

Beginners may like to start with a gentle storytelling mysteries, before moving on to our cunning crimes, and then our most complex of cases, our brutally baffling mysteries. Â

As our live dinner theatre and afternoon tea events involve a murder, they are recommended for adults and children 11+
The exception to this is which is our primary school project mystery, The Mysterious Case of the Disappearing Super Scrumptious Chocolate Cake.
We do a number of family friendly virtual mysteries, with puzzles and clues for all ages to enjoy. All our Christmas virtual mysteries are family-friendly. Look out for the term ‘family-friendly’ on our advertising, but if you are not sure, please contact us. Â
