Extremely popular and appealing to all ages, a murder mystery dinner or weekend is a brilliant event that can be enjoyed by all.

With fun and inventive storylines, clues to unravel, puzzles to solve, suspects to interrogate and conclusions to draw, your guests will delight in solving our mysteries.

Our theatrical casts can transport your guests across space to Hattie Blotter’s wizard school or onboard the Disoriented Express. We can take you back in time to the 1920s, to a glamorous Gatsby’s party or to Birmingham the land of the Peaky Blunders, we can even pop you down a rabbit hole to Wonderland. With over thirty themes available, and a bespoke script writing service in house, your only constraint is your imagination.

With a minimum of seven professional actors in every production, our events are fully immersive with the highest levels of guest/actor interaction.

All private bookings receive the dedicated service of a MurderedforMoney Event Director, who will ensure that your murder mystery event is a perfect match for your venue and your guests. They will also be on hand at the event to help every step of the way.

Prior to the event, our event manager will liaise with you to answer any questions you may have. If possible we will visit the venue so that our theatre director can understand the location and the all important exits and entrances.

Your event manager will be on hand throughout the event and will act as the key point of contact for your customer service and catering teams. They will be happy to provide a running order with timings to be agreed with your chef and catering staff.

On arrival at the event will be greeted by a character and shown to their seat. If they have chosen to sit with other guests they will join a table of six to eight, otherwise they will be seated separately.

During the evening characters will appear and a mystery will unfold in front of guests’ eyes. Unlike going to the theatre there is no stage and the action will take place among the tables.

Guests will be advised to watch and listen carefully as anything that they see or hear could be an important clue. There will also be clues and puzzles placed on tables that may, or may not help guests solve the crime, but watch out for red herrings!

At some stage one or more murders will take place, but don’t worry, guests are perfectly safe. All our mysteries are lighthearted so there will be no blood or gore. Our aim is to delight our audiences not scare them.

Following the murder the police will arrive and they will lead the audience in the interrogation of the suspects. This is often the highlight of the event as guests are free to ask anything they like, which they usually do with hilarious results.

Once the interrogation is over guests will have time to consider what they have heard before they make their guess who-dunnit and why. With all guesses handed in, all will be revealed and the winner announced.

Throughout the event it is entirely up to each guest how much they wish to join in. They can interact with the characters or, if they prefer, simply sit back, watch the fun and enjoy the experience. The MurderedforMoney team will never take anyone out of their comfort zone, so those who may feel hesitant at the thought of an ‘interactive’ event need not worry.

Depending on the length of the interrogation and food service times. the event will usually last between two and a half and three hours. Around Christmas some venues choose to extend the event with a DJ after the mystery.

Weekend events usually run from 3pm on Saturday to 11am on Sunday and include an afternoon tea as well as evening dinner.

Prior to the event, your dedicated event manager will liaise with you to answer any questions and help you choose a theme that best suits your location and time of year. If you would like a bespoke script written for your venue, that is something that we will be happy to do for you. This will incur an additional fee.

If possible the event manager / theatre director will visit your venue, to answer any of your questions and see the location for themselves. This will enable the mystery director to understand the available spaces and the key exits and entrances to the venue. This allows us to build in elements of surprise that will delight your guests.

On arrival at the event, guests will be greeted by our actors, the mystery will begin with guests fully immersed in the theme of the event from that moment on. With time scheduled into the programme for guests to explore the grounds, local town, or sample your spa, guests will enjoy an weekend of intrique, escapism and fun.
