Murder at thhe Ratz Hotel - Video - BDDF 14th – 19th June 2022

Live interrogations on Saturday 18th June

In the heart of London’s Mayfair sits The Ratz Hotel, a beacon of luxury and tradition. But all of that is about to come crashing down when the new manager announces his rather unusual plans. Secrets, lies, revenge, ambition and unrequited love come bubbling to the surface with hilarious and deadly consequences.

Join players across the world as they compete to solve the crime, catch the killer(s) and claim the Super Sleuth prize!

In the run up to Saturday night, we will email you video footage to watch, clues to unravel, puzzles to solve and evidence to sort. Then gather your wits for the live interrogation of the suspects, via Zoom conferencing, on Saturday evening.  Use clever questioning to check alibis, reveal more clues, and reveal the killer(s).

You then have until 6.30pm on Sunday to decide who-dunnit and why. Submit your answer by the deadline for a chance to win the £30 Amazon E-voucher. Everyone who correctly identifies the killer(s) will receive a Super Sleuth Certificate to display with pride.

In order to take part in the challenge, all you need is access to the internet and the nose of a detective!.

This production is performed in support of the Basingstoke District Disability Forum.

The ticket price is £14 per household plus an optional donation of £1, £5, £10 or £20 to the charity. When booking your ticket you also have the option to make a one off voluntary donation to the charity of any amount.

‘It was a fabulous experience and immense fun! Highly recommended!’

‘Engaging, witty and draws you in! Excellent and interactive production’

At 6pm on Monday 13th June 2022, you will receive by email your joining instructions, explaining how to play and introducing the story and the suspects.

At 12 noon on Tuesday 14th, Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th you will receive an email from us containing video footage, evidence, clues and information relating to the crime. You can look at these as they arrive, save them for the evening, or binge watch them all at the weekend, whichever you prefer.

Then on the evening of Saturday 18th June you are invited to attend a live interrogation of the suspects via Zoom video conferencing. Here you will meet the suspects you have been watching all week in the footage and the policeman leading the case. Ask the suspects anything that you want as you try to reveal the truth.

You then have until Sunday evening at 6.30pm to put your heads together to work out who-dunnit, submit your solution, and have a chance of winning the prize.

At 8.30pm on Sunday all will be revealed and the winner announced.

Don’t worry if this feels a lot to remember, we will take you through it day by day when you take part.

When buying your ticket you have the option to choose to attend an interrogation at either 7pm or 8pm. If you prefer not to join us on Zoom, you can opt for a recording of an interrogation to be emailed you late Saturday night.

The script is based on Recipe for Murder written by David Lovesy & Steve Clark and adapted for the virtual world by Bridget Wilkinson.
