Murder of a Christmas Elf began life as one of our live Christmas dinner-theatre mysteries.
Our audiences met the characters, followed the clues, compared theories and tried to work out who was telling the truth — and who most definitely wasn’t.
Now we’ve taken that same mystery and turned it into something completely new:
A Detective Case File you can investigate at home.
Solve it in one sitting — or turn it into a 24-day murder mystery Advent calendar, opening a numbered evidence envelope each day from 1 December to Christmas Eve.
No actors standing in front of you this time. Instead, you’ll uncover the story through witness statements, letters, photographs, reports, clues and evidence — and decide for yourself what really happened at the North Pole.
Same mystery. A completely new way to investigate it.

🎄 The Setting
Christmas is only days away and the North Pole’s most promising Christmas House Elves are competing to be crowned Best Christmas House Elf.
Only three finalists remain.
But just as the winner is about to be announced, a shocking crime brings the competition to an abrupt end.
Suddenly nobody is above suspicion — not the finalists, not Santa, not Mrs Claus… not even Rudolph.
The competition is over. The investigation has begun.

One mystery. You choose the pace.
The evidence is waiting inside 24 numbered envelopes, allowing the investigation to unfold at the pace you choose.
Solve it in one sitting — gather your detectives around the table and work your way through the evidence envelopes together.
Investigate through Advent — open one numbered evidence envelope each day from 1 December through to Christmas Eve.
Play over the 12 Days of Christmas — open two numbered evidence envelopes each day from Christmas Day through to Twelfth Night.
However you choose to play, you’re investigating the same complete mystery — you simply decide when the evidence is revealed.
🎁 Coming to Kickstarter on 1 September
The complete Detective Edition will be £25, including your Murder of a Christmas Elf Detective Case File and North Pole Detective Notebook.
We’ll also have a Christmas Family Edition for groups who want to make an occasion of the investigation, and a Master Detective Edition for those who take their detective work rather seriously.
And for our earliest detectives, we’ll have a limited number of Early Bird rewards, including the Detective Edition for £23 instead of £25.
